Beaverton Nissan Service Frequently Asked Questions

We understand the car business and service is most important!

What is the eLoyalty program and how do I enroll?

The Beaverton Nissan eLoyalty program — powered by MyNISSAN Rewards — is our way of saying thank you for choosing us, every single time you come in. It's a complimentary rewards program that puts real money back in your pocket just for doing what you already do: taking care of your Nissan.

Enrollment is free and takes less than two minutes:

-Ask any service advisor or sales team member to enroll you at your next visit, or

-Enroll online at NissanUSA.com/Rewards

Once enrolled, you'll begin earning Service Reward Points on qualifying service, parts, and accessories purchases at Beaverton Nissan.

eLoyalty Is Customer Royalty — and it starts the moment you join.

How do I earn and redeem my eLoyalty rewards points? What are they worth?

Earning is simple — every qualifying service visit, parts purchase, or accessories order at Beaverton Nissan adds MyNISSAN Rewards points to your account.

Here's how your points work:

-1 point = $1 in customer cash redeemable at Beaverton Nissan

-Points can be applied toward service, parts, accessories, and qualifying new vehicle purchases

-Your point balance can be checked anytime at NissanUSA.com/Rewards, or simply ask your service advisor at your next visit — they can pull it up instantly

-Points typically post to your account within 45–60 days after a qualifying transaction

Redeeming is just as easy: tell your advisor you'd like to use your points before your RO (repair order) is closed, and the discount is applied automatically. No coupons, no codes, no hassle — just loyalty rewarded.

The more you service with us, the more your loyalty pays off. That's the eLoyalty promise.

Do my eLoyalty points expire? Can I use them at other Nissan dealerships?

Great questions — here's the honest answer:

Point expiration: MyNISSAN Rewards points remain on your account per your enrolled dealership's terms and conditions. We recommend redeeming points regularly to get the most value from your membership. Ask your Beaverton Nissan service advisor about the current point expiration policy so you never leave value on the table.

Dealership exclusivity: Your Beaverton Nissan eLoyalty points are tied to your enrolled dealership — meaning they are earned and redeemed here, at 3855 SW Cedar Hills Blvd. This is actually a feature, not a limitation: it means we have a direct stake in your satisfaction every single visit. Your loyalty belongs to us, and we take that seriously.

What this means for you: The best way to maximize your eLoyalty benefits is to make Beaverton Nissan your one service home — and we'll earn that right every time you pull into our service drive. From oil changes to EV battery checks to major repairs, every visit builds your balance and deepens our commitment to you.

You're not just a customer. You're family — and eLoyalty Is Customer Royalty.

How often should I bring my Nissan in for service?

For most Nissan models, we recommend following the Nissan Maintenance Schedule outlined in your Owner's Manual — typically every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first, for oil and filter changes. However, your ideal service interval depends on the model you drive, the type of oil used (conventional vs. full synthetic), and your driving habits. Portland-area driving — stop-and-go commutes, rainy conditions, and highway miles to the Coast or Mt. Hood — can all affect how often your vehicle needs attention. When in doubt, bring it in and let one of our factory-trained advisors take a look. We'll always tell you exactly what's needed and what can wait.

Pro Tip: Your Nissan's onboard maintenance reminder system will notify you when service is due based on your actual driving patterns — so watch for that dashboard alert.

Do I need an appointment, or do you offer walk-in / express service?

Both! We offer Nissan Express Service for routine maintenance — oil changes, tire rotations, wiper blade replacements, battery checks, cabin air filter swaps, and more — with no appointment necessary. Just drive in and we'll get you back on the road as quickly as possible. For more involved work — diagnostics, brake service, suspension, major repairs, or EV battery inspections — we recommend scheduling an appointment in advance so we can reserve the right technician and have any needed parts ready before you arrive. You can book online 24/7 at beavertonnissan.com or call us at (503) 643-8676.

How long will my service appointment take?

It depends on the service. Here's a general guide:

Service & Estimated Time:

-Express oil change & tire rotation 45–60 minutes

- Multi-point inspection 30–45 minutes (add-on)

- Brake inspection or replacement 1–2 hours

- Alignment 1–1.5 hours

- EV battery health diagnostic (LEAF/Ariya) 45–60 minutes

- Major repair / engine work Varies — we'll give you a firm ETA at drop-off

* Please note these are estimates :

We respect your time and will always communicate clearly if anything changes during your visit. If your vehicle needs to stay with us for the day, we'll discuss transportation options — including our courtesy shuttle service — so you're never left stranded.

Do you use genuine Nissan OEM parts?

Absolutely — and it matters more than you might think. At Beaverton Nissan, we use 100% Genuine Nissan OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts on every repair and service job. OEM parts are engineered specifically for your vehicle's make, model, and year — ensuring a precise fit, optimal performance, and manufacturer-approved quality. Using aftermarket parts may save a few dollars upfront but can void your Nissan warranty and may cause compatibility issues down the road. With us, you always know exactly what's going into your vehicle.

What does my Nissan warranty cover, and for how long?

Every new Nissan comes with a comprehensive warranty package:

Coverage: New Vehicle Limited Warranty (bumper-to-bumper) / Duration: 3 years/ 36,000 miles

Coverage: Powertrain Limited Warranty (engine, transmission, drivetrain) / Duration: 5 years / 60,000 miles

Coverage: Corrosion/Rust-Through / Duration: 5 years / unlimited miles

Coverage: Federal Emissions / Duration: 3 years / 36,000 miles

Coverage: California Emissions (if applicable) / Duration:3 years / 50,000 miles

Coverage: LEAF / Ariya EV Battery Capacity Warranty/ Duration: 8 years / 100,000 miles

Routine maintenance items (oil changes, tire rotations, brake pads, wiper blades) are not covered under the factory warranty — those are considered normal wear. If you're unsure what's covered under your specific vehicle's warranty, our service advisors will walk you through it at no charge. We can also discuss Nissan Extended Protection plans if you want peace of mind beyond the factory coverage.

Do you offer loaner vehicles or transportation while my car is being serviced?

Yes. We understand that being without your vehicle — especially in a busy Portland-metro household — isn't always convenient.

We offer:

-Courtesy shuttle service for local drop-offs while your vehicle is being serviced

-Loaner vehicle availability for qualifying repairs (subject to availability — ask your service advisor when booking)

-Flexible drop-off: Use our night drop if you need to leave your vehicle after hours — just use the drop box at our service entrance

Our goal is to make your service experience as seamless as possible. Let us know your needs when you book and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

My Check Engine light came on. What should I do?

Don't panic — but don't ignore it either. A solid (steady) Check Engine light typically indicates a non-emergency issue that still needs attention, such as a loose gas cap, an O2 sensor reading, or a misfiring cylinder. A flashing Check Engine light is more urgent and usually means the engine is misfiring in a way that could damage your catalytic converter — in that case, reduce speed and bring your vehicle in as soon as possible.

At Beaverton Nissan, we use factory-level Nissan diagnostic equipment to read your vehicle's fault codes accurately — the same tools Nissan engineers use. Many auto parts stores offer free code reads, but generic OBD-II scanners don't capture the full depth of Nissan-specific codes. Come see us for a complete diagnosis and a clear, written explanation of what's going on — no jargon, no pressure.

Can I get a multi-point inspection even if my car isn't due for scheduled maintenance?

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Our Nissan Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection (MPI) is a comprehensive, no-pressure evaluation of your vehicle's key systems, including brakes, tires, fluids, lights, belts, filters, battery, and more. We document everything in a written report with color-coded status indicators (green = good, yellow = monitor, red = needs attention soon) so you always have a clear picture of your vehicle's health.

An MPI is a smart move when:

-You're preparing for a road trip (Coast, Crater Lake, Mt. Hood)

-Your vehicle is approaching a high-mileage milestone (60K, 90K, 100K)

-You're buying or selling a used vehicle

-It's been more than 6 months since your last service visit

Ask your service advisor to add an MPI to any service appointment — it typically adds no extra time.

I drive a Nissan LEAF or Ariya. Do you have EV-certified technicians?

Yes — and this is one area where choosing a certified Nissan dealership really matters. Beaverton Nissan is a Nissan EV-certified service center with technicians trained specifically on the LEAF and Ariya platforms, including battery management systems, motor/inverter diagnostics, and charging system service.

Here's what our EV service covers:

-Annual EV Battery Health Report — Nissan requires this annually to maintain your 8-year/100,000-mile battery capacity warranty. This service is performed at no charge at a certified Nissan dealer.

-Battery diagnostic printout — using Nissan Consult III+ diagnostics, we generate a Battery Information Sheet showing your State of Health (SoH), current capacity, and estimated range

-12V auxiliary battery service — a commonly overlooked EV maintenance item

-Brake fluid inspection — EVs use regenerative braking, but brake fluid still degrades over time

-Cabin air filter, tire rotation, and charging port inspection

Portland is the #1 EV-ready city in the United States — and your LEAF or Ariya deserves service from a team that's equally prepared.
